Inspiring blog you've got! Just what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it's been 15 years that you've posted . . .

Recently, I've been revisiting the Magic Snake and came up with the following puzzles:

1. In how many (interesting) ways can you fit the snake into a 3x3x3 cube (where a unit cube has the volume of 2 triangles of the snake)?

2. In how many (interesting) ways can you fit the snake into a 2x3x4 block (same unit cubes), in such a way that each unit cube is passed through once?

Following 2, there is at least one other block to consider, namely the 2x2x6 block, hence:

3. In how many (interesting) ways can you fit the snake into a 2x2x6 block (same unit cubes), in such a way that the snake passes through each unit cube once?

But I also found that slightly bigger blocks allow for more creative freedom. Try fitting the snake into 2x4x4, or even 3x4x4.

Also, if you ever read this, please, contact me (email me at bruno (dot) curfs (at) gmail (dot) com. We may be able to exchange some ideas, or create a book. I also have an unanswered question about the geometry of the snake, that's easy to formulate, yet hard to answer.

Cheers.
